If you are starting from Whangarei city center, head north on Bank Street towards Dent Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with State Highway 1 (SH1). Cross the highway and turn left onto SH1. Walk along the footpath for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Whareora Road. Continue walking on Whareora Road for about 2 kilometers. A. H. Reed Memorial Kauri Park will be on your right at 199 Whareora Road. Look for the entrance to the park which is marked by signs.

To reach A. H. Reed Memorial Kauri Park via public transport, take Bus Route 3 from the Whangarei Central Bus Station. The bus typically runs every hour. Request a stop at Whareora Road, which is the closest stop to the park. After getting off, walk about 500 meters along Whareora Road towards the park entrance at 199 Whareora Road. Follow the signs to the park entrance.
