    From Whangarei city center, head north on Bank Street, which becomes Onerahi Road. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Ngunguru Road. Turn left onto Ngunguru Road and continue for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Whangarei Falls as you approach the area. The falls are located at 6 Ngunguru Road, Tikipunga. Look for the parking area on your right as you arrive.

  • Public Transportation

    Begin your journey by taking a bus from the Whangarei Central Bus Station. Look for the bus service that heads towards Tikipunga. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Ask the driver to let you know when to get off at Ngunguru Road. Once you arrive, it is a short 10-minute walk to Whangarei Falls. Head south on Ngunguru Road until you reach the entrance of the falls.

  • Car

    If you are coming from the Bay of Islands area, take State Highway 1 south towards Whangarei. As you approach Whangarei, take the exit towards Whangarei CBD. Follow the signs to Ngunguru Road. After about 10 minutes on Ngunguru Road, you will arrive at Whangarei Falls, which is located at 6 Ngunguru Road, Tikipunga.

  • Car

    For those coming from Paihia or Russell, take State Highway 11 to State Highway 1 and head south towards Whangarei. Once in Whangarei, follow the signs to Tikipunga via Ngunguru Road. Keep an eye out for the Whangarei Falls sign about 5 kilometers down Ngunguru Road, and you will find the parking area on the right.
