If you're driving, start from the center of Bergen and head east on Rådstupeien road. Follow signs for E39 towards Oslo. After approximately 2 km, take the exit towards Sædalen and follow the signs for Øvre Sverresborg. Continue on Sverresborgveien until you reach Øvre Sverresborg, located at coordinates 60.4010656, 5.3224373. There is parking available near the fortress.

To reach Øvre Sverresborg via public transportation, start at Bergen Bus Station. Take Bus 12 towards Rådal and get off at the stop 'Sædalen'. From there, you can either walk (about 20 minutes) following Sverresborgveien towards Øvre Sverresborg, or transfer to Bus 13 towards Nesttun and get off at the stop 'Sverresborg'. The fortress is a short walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the schedule for bus times and any potential costs for tickets, which are usually around 40 NOK for a one-way trip.
