Start by locating the nearest Metro bus stop in Cincinnati. If you are downtown, you can catch the Metro's Route 1 bus, which runs frequently. Board the bus heading towards the Avondale area. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the Cincinnati Zoo. From there, follow the signs to the zoo entrance. Once inside, head towards the Hippo Cove exhibit, which is located towards the back of the zoo, marked clearly on the zoo map.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing locations. Start from downtown Cincinnati and head north towards the Cincinnati Zoo. You can follow the bike paths along the roads. The most direct route is to take Vine St. north, then turn left onto Clifton Ave. Continue until you reach the zoo entrance. Lock your bike at the designated bike racks near the entrance and proceed to Hippo Cove once inside the zoo.

If you are staying nearby and wish to walk, make your way to the Cincinnati Zoo located at 3489 Dury Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45229. Take a direct route by following Dury Ave if you are coming from the surrounding neighborhoods. Once you reach the zoo entrance, pay for admission and enter. Walk straight towards the main path of the zoo and look for signage directing you to Hippo Cove. It is located towards the rear section of the zoo, so be prepared for a short walk.
