Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Hood River, head west on Oak St towards 2nd St. Continue on Oak St until you reach the intersection with 2nd St. Turn left onto 2nd St and walk for about 0.2 miles. At the end of 2nd St, turn right onto Columbia St and continue walking for another 0.3 miles. This road will turn slightly to the left and become Old Columbia River Dr. Follow Old Columbia River Dr for about 0.5 miles until you see the 'Welcome to Hood River' sign located at 2680 Old Columbia River Dr. The sign is situated on the right side of the road, so keep an eye out for it as you approach.

  From downtown Hood River, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike shops. Start your ride by heading west on Oak St towards 2nd St. Turn left onto 2nd St and continue until you reach the intersection with Columbia St. Turn right onto Columbia St and bike for about 0.3 miles. As Columbia St merges into Old Columbia River Dr, continue biking for approximately 0.5 miles. The 'Welcome to Hood River' sign will be on your right at 2680 Old Columbia River Dr. Be cautious of traffic as you approach the sign.

• Public Transit

  If you prefer to use public transportation, check the local bus schedule for the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) service. Board the bus route that heads towards the Columbia River Gorge. Get off at the stop closest to Old Columbia River Dr. From there, it will be about a 15-minute walk to the 'Welcome to Hood River' sign. Walk along Old Columbia River Dr, and you will find the sign at 2680 Old Columbia River Dr on your right. Make sure to verify the bus schedule and routes ahead of time to ensure you have the correct information.
