Car
If you're driving from Eugene, take I-5 North and merge onto OR-126 East toward Bend. Continue on OR-126 East for approximately 75 miles, then take the exit for US-97 North toward Redmond/Bend. Merge onto US-97 North and drive for about 15 miles. Take the exit onto OR-20 East toward Bend, and follow the signs for Bend. Continue on OR-20 East, then turn left onto NE 27th St. After about 1.5 miles, turn right onto NE Purcell Blvd, and follow this road until it turns into a dirt path leading to Boyd Cave. Parking is available at the trailhead.
Public Transportation
To reach Boyd Cave via public transportation, start by taking the Lane Transit District (LTD) bus from Eugene to Bend. You can catch the bus at the Eugene Station. Once you arrive in Bend, transfer to the Bend Area Transit (BAT) bus that heads towards the Eastside. Get off at the nearest stop to Boyd Cave and then walk approximately 1 mile to reach the cave entrance. Please check the current bus schedules for both LTD and BAT for accurate timings. Note that bus fares may apply, so have some cash or a transit card ready.
Bicycle
For adventurous cyclists, you can bike from Bend to Boyd Cave. Start in downtown Bend and head east on NE 3rd St. Follow signs for the Deschutes River Trail until you reach the path leading to Boyd Cave. This route is around 8 miles and offers beautiful scenic views along the way. Make sure your bike is in good condition and wear a helmet. There are no additional costs, but bring water and snacks for the ride.
