Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car from Skardu to Basho Valley (Sultanabad Meadow), start your journey by heading out of Skardu city. Take the Skardu to Deosai road and follow the signs for Deosai National Park. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the entrance of Deosai National Park. There is an entrance fee for the park, which is around PKR 1000 per person. Once inside the park, continue on the main road for about 20 km until you reach the junction for Basho Valley. Take the turn towards Basho Valley and drive for another 10 km on a rough but scenic road until you reach the Sultanabad Meadow area. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road conditions.

Public Transportation
For those utilizing public transportation, take a bus or jeep from Skardu to Deosai National Park. The journey typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. You can find local transport options at the Skardu bus station. Once you reach the Deosai entrance, you will need to hire a local jeep that can navigate the rough terrain of the park. The cost for hiring a jeep to Basho Valley usually ranges from PKR 3000 to PKR 5000, depending on negotiation and the season. After hiring, inform the driver to take you to Sultanabad Meadow, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way.

Hiking
If you are adventurous and already inside Deosai National Park, you can hike to Basho Valley from nearby camping sites. Start from the Sheosar Lake area, which is approximately 5 km away from the valley. Follow the marked trails that lead towards Basho Valley, and enjoy the stunning landscapes. The hike is moderate and may take around 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
