Getting There

Car
From Skardu, head towards Deosai National Park. Follow the main road (Skardu-Deosai Road) until you reach the entrance of Deosai National Park. Once inside the park, continue on the main road. You will pass through stunning landscapes, and after approximately 30 kilometers, look for signs directing you towards Basho Valley. Take the turn onto the Basho Road, which is a narrower, unpaved road. Follow this road for about 15 kilometers until you arrive at Sultanabad Meadow, which is located in Basho Valley. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as the road can be challenging. Parking is available at the meadow.

Public Transportation
In Skardu, take a jeep or hire a local driver to reach Deosai National Park. The jeep ride will take you through Deosai's scenic routes. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Basho Valley; they are familiar with this destination. The journey will take about 1 to 2 hours depending on road conditions. Once you reach the Basho Road, the driver can drop you off at the entrance, and you can either walk or negotiate a further ride to Sultanabad Meadow, which is approximately 15 kilometers into the valley. Be prepared to pay approximately PKR 3000-5000 for the jeep hire, depending on negotiation and the season.

Hiking
If you are already in Deosai National Park and wish to hike to Basho Valley, start from the nearest campsite or accommodation. Follow the trails leading towards Basho Valley, which will take you through breathtaking landscapes. The hike can vary in distance depending on your starting point but generally takes about 3-4 hours of walking. Make sure to carry sufficient water and snacks, and wear appropriate hiking gear. Note that hiking off the main paths is not recommended without a guide, as trails can be difficult to follow.
