Car
To reach Mahodand Lake by car, start your journey from Mingora, the largest city in Swat. Head north on the Saidu Sharif - Madyan Road (N-90) for approximately 26 kilometers until you reach Madyan. From Madyan, take the right turn onto the Madyan - Kalam Road. Continue driving for about 16 kilometers until you reach Kalam. Once in Kalam, follow the signs towards Mahodand Lake. The road from Kalam to Mahodand is around 35 kilometers and leads you through beautiful lush landscapes. Please note that the last stretch of the road may be unpaved and can be challenging, so make sure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain. Parking is available near the lake.

If you prefer public transportation, begin your journey from Mingora by boarding a van or a bus heading towards Kalam. The fare typically ranges from PKR 200 to PKR 300 per person and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Kalam, you can hire a local jeep to take you to Mahodand Lake. The jeep fare for a round trip usually costs around PKR 3000 to PKR 5000, depending on how many passengers you have and your bargaining skills. The jeep ride to the lake takes about 1 hour.
