Getting There

  • Car

    From Cusco city center, head southeast on Av. El Sol towards Av. La Cultura. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Av. de la Cultura. Turn left onto Av. de la Cultura and follow it for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Join Route 3S and continue for about 2 hours (approximately 100 kilometers) towards the town of Pitumarca. From Pitumarca, follow the signs to the trailhead for Montaña Arcoiris, which is located near the village of Cusipata. You will need to pay an entrance fee of around 10 soles per person at the checkpoint before starting your hike.

    Start your journey at the main bus terminal in Cusco. Take a bus heading to Pitumarca; these buses usually leave regularly throughout the day. The bus ride takes about 2.5 hours, costing around 15-20 soles.
