Getting to and around Roztocze National Park

How to get there

Roztocze National Park is located in southeastern Poland, in the Lublin Voivodeship. The nearest major city is Lublin, which has a regional airport (Lublin Airport) with flights from various European destinations. From Lublin, you can take a train or bus to the town of Zwierzyniec, which serves as the main gateway to the park. The journey by train takes around 2 hours, while buses are also available and take a similar amount of time. For those driving, the park is accessible via the E372 and DK17 roads.

Transportation

Within Roztocze National Park, the best way to explore is on foot or by bicycle, as many of the trails are not accessible by car. Bicycles can be rented in Zwierzyniec and other nearby towns. Local buses connect the park with surrounding villages and towns, though they may not be very frequent. Taxis are available, but it is recommended to arrange transportation in advance. For those who prefer driving, car rentals are available in Lublin, but keep in mind that some areas of the park are car-free zones.

History of Roztocze National Park

Ancient Settlement of Goraj

The Roztocze region has been inhabited since ancient times, with archaeological findings indicating the presence of early human settlements. One of the most notable is the settlement of Goraj, which dates back to the Neolithic period.
