Getting There
Walking
From the city center of Guimarães, head towards the Guimarães train station. Exit the station and walk straight on Avenida Dom João IV. Continue walking until you reach Praça de Santiago. From there, take Rua de São Francisco towards the north, which will lead you to the historic center. Follow the signs to the bus station and take a bus to Porto. Once in Porto, follow the signs to the metro station and take Line A (the blue line) towards Senhora da Hora. Get off at the stop 'Câmara de Gaia'. From there, it's a short walk to Calçada das Virtudes 5. Just follow the signs pointing to the 'Fountain of the Virtues'.
Bus and Walking
Start at the Guimarães train station and take Bus 34 towards Porto. The bus will take you directly to Porto. Once you arrive in Porto, get off at the bus terminal and walk towards the nearest metro station. Take Line A (the blue line) towards Senhora da Hora. Get off at the 'Câmara de Gaia' station, and from there, it’s a pleasant walk to Calçada das Virtudes 5. Just head down the hill, following the signs for the fountain.
Train and Walking
From Guimarães, take a train to Porto São Bento station. Once you arrive at São Bento station, exit the station and head towards Rua de 31 de Janeiro. Walk straight until you reach Rua de São Francisco, where you can follow the signs towards the river. After reaching the riverfront, turn left and walk along the waterfront until you reach Calçada das Virtudes 5, where the Fountain of the Virtues is located.
