Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Guimarães train station, exit and head straight towards the main street, Avenida de Dom João IV. Walk along this avenue for about 1.2 km until you reach the Praça de São Tiago. At the square, you will see the Igreja de São Tiago. Continue straight onto Rua de Santa Maria, passing by the historic buildings. After about 500 meters, you will arrive at the Largo da Oliveira, a notable square. From there, take Rua de D. João IV for about 600 meters until you reach the end of the street. Turn left onto Avenida de Conde Margaride, and after about 300 meters, you will see signs for the bus station. From there, take a bus to Porto. Once in Porto, follow the directions to Campo dos Mártires da Pátria.

    From Guimarães, take the local bus line 22 from the Guimarães bus station to the Porto bus terminal (Campo 24 de Agosto). The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Porto bus terminal, exit the terminal and walk towards the Avenida dos Aliados. Head south along the Avenida dos Aliados for about 800 meters until you reach the intersection at Rua da Alegria. Turn left onto Rua da Alegria and continue walking for about 400 meters. Finally, turn right onto Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, and you will find Jardim da Cordoaria.
