If you are starting from the historic center of Guimarães, head towards the Praça de São Tiago. From the square, take the Rua de São Tiago and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Rua da Rainha. Turn left onto Rua da Rainha and continue walking until you arrive at the Largo do Toural. From Largo do Toural, walk down Rua de Paio Galvão. The Museum Martins Sarmento will be on your left at number 2, just a short walk from the Largo.

If you are near the Guimarães bus station, take the local bus to the city center (there are several lines going towards the Praça de São Tiago). Once you arrive at the Praça, follow the walking directions provided above to reach the Museum Martins Sarmento.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from the historic center of Guimarães. Start at Praça de São Tiago, then take Rua de São Tiago towards Rua da Rainha. After turning left onto Rua da Rainha, you will reach Largo do Toural. Continue straight along Rua de Paio Galvão, and you will find the Museum Martins Sarmento on your left at number 2.
