Once you arrive in Arcos de Valdevez, ask the bus driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to the Santuario de Nossa Senhora da Peneda. From there, you can follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the sanctuary, which is approximately a 15-minute walk uphill.

Start at the Ponte de Lima town square and head northeast towards the N101 road. Follow the N101 for approximately 10 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views of the countryside. You will then need to take a left onto the road that leads to the sanctuary, which is about 3 kilometers further uphill. This walk is quite challenging and will take several hours, so be prepared with water and snacks.
