From São Bento Metro Station, take the Metro Line D (Yellow Line) towards Hospital de São João. Get off at the Marquês station. Once you exit the station, walk towards Rua de Passos Manuel and head northwest until you reach Avenida dos Aliados. Continue straight until you see the iconic Avenida dos Aliados square.

From Aliados, head to the nearest bus stop located on Rua do Doutor Alves Redol. Take Bus number 303 towards Custoias and get off at the stop 'Praça de Mouzinho de Albuquerque'. From there, walk towards the direction of the Dom Luis I Bridge, following the signs for the Ribeira area. Continue walking until you reach the Pilares da Ponte Pênsil.

If you prefer to walk, start at the Ribeira district. From the riverbank, head towards the Dom Luis I Bridge, crossing over to the other side. Once you are on the other side of the river, walk along the waterfront until you reach the Pilares da Ponte Pênsil. It's approximately a 20-minute walk with beautiful views along the way.

From the city center, find the tram stop for Tram Line 1 which operates along the river. Board the tram and enjoy the scenic ride along the Douro River. Disembark at the Mercado Ferreira Borges stop.
