Metro
If you're starting from the city center, head to the São Bento Metro Station. Take Line D (the yellow line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos and get off at the next stop, which is 'Trindade'. At Trindade Station, switch to Line A (the blue line) towards Estádio do Dragão. Get off at the next stop, which is 'Póvoa de Varzim'. Take the exit towards Rua de Santa Catarina and walk straight until you reach the Ribeira area.

Walking
Once you are in the Ribeira area, walk along the riverfront towards the Dom Luís I Bridge. You'll see the Funicular dos Guindais to your right, just off R. da Ribeira Negra. The funicular station is located at R. da Ribeira Negra 314, and the entrance is clearly marked.

Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, head to the nearest bus stop which is located near the São Bento Metro Station. Take bus number 500 towards 'Câmara de Gaia'. Get off at 'Cais de Gaia' and from there, walk up the hill towards the Funicular dos Guindais. It’s a short walk, and you can enjoy beautiful views of the Douro River along the way.
