Public Transport (Bus)
From Vila Real, head to the main bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Vila Real) located at Av. 1º de Maio. Take the bus to Guimarães, which should take about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Guimarães bus station, exit the station and turn right onto Avenida de São Gonçalo. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de São Francisco. Turn left onto Rua de São Francisco and continue walking until you arrive at the Praça de S. Tiago. From the square, you can see the Palace Duques de Bragança, which is just a short walk down Rua Conde Dom Henrique.

If you find yourself in the center of Vila Real, you can simply walk to the bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Vila Real) which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the central square (Praça da Liberdade). Once at the bus station, follow the public transport guidance to Guimarães as described above.

You can take a taxi from any location in Vila Real. Just ask the driver to take you to Guimarães, specifically to the Palace Duques de Bragança, located at R. Conde Dom Henrique 3. The taxi ride will take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
