From Narragansett, head to the nearest bus stop on 1A (also known as Kingstown Road). You can catch the RIPTA Bus Route 14 (South County) towards Newport. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Newport Gateway Center (the bus station in Newport). From there, walk straight down America’s Cup Avenue towards the waterfront, then take a left onto Thames Street. Continue walking for about 10 minutes, and the Museum of Newport History & Shop will be on your left at 127 Thames St.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Narragansett. Head north on Ocean Road, then follow the bike path that leads into Newport. Once you reach Newport, continue along the waterfront until you reach Thames Street. The museum is located at 127 Thames Street, which is about a 30-minute bike ride from Narragansett, depending on your speed.

For an adventurous route, you can walk from Narragansett to Newport. Start by walking along Ocean Road heading north. This is a scenic route that will take you along the coast. Upon reaching the end of Ocean Road, take a right onto Route 138. Continue on the sidewalk until you reach Newport. Once in Newport, make your way to Thames Street, where the Museum of Newport History & Shop is located at 127 Thames Street. This walk will take you approximately 2-3 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and take breaks as needed.
