From Downtown Providence, head south on Washington Street towards Memorial Boulevard. Turn left onto Memorial Boulevard and continue for about 0.5 miles. You will pass the Rhode Island State House on your right. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Elmwood Avenue. Turn right onto Elmwood Avenue, and the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium will be on your left at 1000 Elmwood Ave. This is a pleasant walk of approximately 30 minutes.

From Downtown Providence, you can take the RIPTA bus #1 (Broadway/Elmwood) from the stop on Kennedy Plaza. Board the bus heading towards Elmwood Avenue. The fare is $2.00 for a single ride, which you can pay in cash or with a bus pass. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes and get off at the stop closest to the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Park Avenue. From there, it is a short walk (about 5 minutes) to the museum located at 1000 Elmwood Ave.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in Downtown Providence. Head south on Washington Street, then turn left onto Memorial Boulevard.
