If you're driving to Fort Wetherill State Park from any point in Washington County, head towards Route 138 East. Once on Route 138, follow the signs for Jamestown and Newport. As you approach Jamestown, take the exit for Route 1A which leads you directly into the town. Continue on Route 1A until you reach Fort Wetherill Road. Turn right onto Fort Wetherill Road, and the park entrance will be on your left at 3 Fort Wetherill Rd, Jamestown, RI 02835. There is no entrance fee for the park.

To reach Fort Wetherill State Park via public transportation, start by taking a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus to the Jamestown area. The nearest bus stop is near the Jamestown library. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to the park. Head south on Narragansett Ave towards Fort Wetherill Rd, then turn left onto Fort Wetherill Rd. The park entrance will be on your left. Please check the RIPTA schedule for the latest bus routes and times, as well as potential costs associated with the bus fare, which typically ranges from $2.00 to $2.50.
