From Rubavu town, head to the main bus station located near the central market. Look for buses heading to Kamembe or Karongi. The fare is usually around 500 Rwandan Francs. Inform the bus driver that you're going to Gishwati-Mukura National Park. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Once you reach the nearest bus stop to the park, you may need to walk or find a motorcycle taxi (moto) to take you closer to the park entrance.

If you prefer a faster option, you can hire a motorcycle taxi from any point in Rubavu. Simply ask a local or use a mobile app if available to find a moto. The ride to Gishwati-Mukura National Park will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey; it should be around 2,000 to 3,000 Rwandan Francs.

If you're feeling adventurous and physically able, you can consider walking to the park. Start from the center of Rubavu, head towards the main road leading to Gishwati-Mukura National Park.
