Car
If you are driving from Kinigi, the main entry point to Volcanoes National Park, take the road leading to the park headquarters. After passing the park headquarters, continue on the main road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the junction towards Volcanoes National Park. Follow the signs for Bisate Lodge, which is located on the right side of the road. The lodge is about 15 minutes from the park headquarters, and there is a well-marked sign directing you to Wilderness Bisate. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for the rough terrain as the roads can be bumpy.

From Ruhengeri, take a public taxi-bus (also known as 'matatus') heading to Kinigi. These can be found at the main bus station in Ruhengeri. Once you arrive in Kinigi, you can either hire a motorcycle taxi (known as 'moto') or walk to the lodge. If you opt for a motorcycle taxi, negotiate the fare, which should typically be around 2,000 Rwandan Francs (approximately $2 USD). The ride will take about 15 minutes. Make sure to communicate that your destination is Wilderness Bisate, as some moto drivers may not be familiar with it.
