If you are starting from the Jewel Cave Visitor Center, exit the parking lot and head east on Hwy 16 toward Keystone. Continue on Hwy 16 for about 9 miles. You will see signs for the Scovel Johnson Tunnel. The tunnel is located directly off the US-16 Scenic route.

While public transportation options are limited in the area, you can take a local bus from the nearest town to the Jewel Cave National Monument to Keystone. Once in Keystone, walk north along the US-16 Scenic highway for about 0.5 miles. The Scovel Johnson Tunnel will be on your left.
