Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving or have access to a car, start from the main entrance of Minneriya National Park. Follow the main road leading south and take the first right after approximately 2 kilometers. Continue on this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach a fork; keep left. The Minneriya Wawe Devalaya will be on your right side, approximately 500 meters down this road. Parking is available near the temple.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, take a local bus from Habarana to Minneriya. The buses run frequently and the fare is approximately 50 LKR. Once you arrive at the Minneriya bus stop, you will need to walk about 2 kilometers to reach the Minneriya Wawe Devalaya. Head south on the main road, and take the first right after approximately 1 kilometer. Continue straight until you reach a fork and keep left; the temple will be on your right side about 500 meters down this road.
