    From the Polonnaruwa bus station, head north on Giritale Road toward the junction with the A11 highway. Once you reach the A11, turn left and walk along the road for about 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for Sigiriya. Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Polonnaruwa. Start at the Polonnaruwa bus station and head north on Giritale Road. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto the A11 highway toward Sigiriya. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers, and you will see signs for the entrance to Sigiriya Rock Fortress on your right.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    To take a tuk-tuk from Polonnaruwa to Sigiriya, find a tuk-tuk stand near the bus station. Negotiate the fare (usually around 1500 LKR) and tell the driver you want to go to Sigiriya. The journey takes about 30 minutes. The driver will drop you off at the entrance to Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
