Start your journey from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Head east on the main road (Sigiriya Road) away from the fortress. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the Thalkote Road on your right. Turn right onto Thalkote Road. Follow Thalkote Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for Thalkote Lake View Point. The view point will be on your left side, just past the Thalkote Lake.

If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Sigiriya. Start at the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and ride east on Sigiriya Road for about 1 kilometer.
