  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Matara, which is approximately 21 km from Gandara Harbour. Take the A2 highway heading south towards Dikwella. After about 10 km, you will reach a junction; take a left onto the B208 road. Continue straight for about 6 km until you reach Gandara. Look for signs indicating the beach area as you approach. Once in Gandara, follow Gandara Beach Road, and you will find the harbour at the end of the road. Parking is available nearby.

    To reach Gandara Harbour via public transportation, take a bus from Matara to Dikwella. Buses leave frequently from the Matara bus station. The fare is typically around 50 LKR. Inform the bus conductor that you are heading to Gandara so they can alert you when to get off. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Gandara junction. From there, take a tuk-tuk (which should cost about 200 LKR) or walk about 2 km down Gandara Beach Road to reach the harbour. Tuk-tuk drivers are usually available at the bus stop.
