Start from Locarno train station. Take a direct train to Varenna-Esino station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Varenna-Esino station, exit the station and head down the road towards the lake. Follow the signs leading to Varenna town. Once you reach the lakeside, follow the promenade until you see signs for 'Contrada della Filanda'. The Church of St. John the Baptist is located at Contrada della Filanda, just a short walk from the lakefront.

From the Locarno lakeside, board a ferry heading towards Varenna. The ferry ride takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Varenna ferry terminal, disembark and walk up the steps to reach the main road. Head straight towards the town center, following the signs for 'Contrada della Filanda'. The church is located a short distance away in the town center.
