From Lugano, head to the Lugano train station (Stazione di Lugano) located at Piazza Stazione, 1. You can walk there from the city center in about 15 minutes. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for a train to Varese. The train journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Varese station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal nearby.

At Varese train station, board bus line 7 (or any bus heading towards 'Sacromonte') which will take you directly to the Sacro Monte di Varese. The bus ride is about 20 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Sacro Monte'. From there, follow the signs to the Sacro Monte, which is a short walk uphill.

After disembarking the bus at the 'Sacro Monte' stop, you will see signs directing you to the entrance of the Sacro Monte di Varese. The path is well-marked, and it should take you around 10-15 minutes to walk up to the main attraction, enjoying the scenic views along the way.
