If you're driving, start from Moshi, the nearest major town. Head north on the A23 road towards Same. After approximately 45 kilometers, take the turnoff towards Mkomazi National Park. Follow the signs leading to the park entrance. The road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Once you reach the park entrance, pay the entrance fee, which is approximately $30 per person for foreign tourists. After entering, continue on the designated roads to reach Mkomazi Wilderness Retreat, which is located inside the park at Dindira Hill. The retreat is about 15 kilometers from the park entrance, and the drive may take 30-45 minutes depending on road conditions.

To reach Mkomazi Wilderness Retreat using public transport, take a daladala (local minibus) from Moshi to Same. This journey typically costs around 3,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings) and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. The taxi fare from Same to the park entrance is approximately 30,000 to 50,000 TZS.
