Getting There

  • Private Car

    From Kidepo Valley National Park, head south towards the town of Kitgum. This is approximately a 2-3 hour drive depending on road conditions. In Kitgum, take the Gulu road heading southwest. After about 70 km, you'll reach Gulu. From Gulu, continue on the Gulu - Masindi road for about 90 km until you reach the town of Masindi. From Masindi, follow the signs to Murchison Falls National Park, which is about another 50 km to the north. The drive through the park gate will lead you to various park attractions including the falls.

  • Public Transportation

    To travel by public transport, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Kidepo Valley National Park to Kitgum. This will take about 1-2 hours. From Kitgum, you will need to catch another matatu heading to Gulu. After reaching Gulu, transfer to another matatu that goes to Masindi. Once you arrive in Masindi, you can find a taxi or arrange for a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you to the Murchison Falls National Park entrance, which is about 50 km away. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
