Walking
If you are starting from the city centre (e.g., Market Square), head southeast towards St. Mary's Church. Walk down the narrow path next to the church and continue straight until you reach the River Cam. Cross the river using the Magdalene Bridge which will lead you to the other side. Once across, turn right and follow the riverbank along the Cam, enjoying the scenic views. Continue walking until you reach the next bridge, which is Kitchen Bridge. You’ll see St John's College directly ahead, and the bridge itself is adjacent to the college.

From the Cambridge Railway Station, exit onto Station Road and head north towards the city centre. Follow the signs to the city centre and continue along the main road until you reach Parkside. Turn left onto Parkside and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Gonville Place and then turn right onto Regent Street. Follow this road, which will lead you directly to the river. Once you reach the River Cam, turn left and walk along the river until you arrive at Kitchen Bridge, which is next to St John's College.

If you are near the Botanic Garden, exit the garden and turn left onto Trumpington Road. Walk north until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with Lensfield Road. From there, head straight towards the city centre, and you will eventually reach Pembroke Street. Continue straight onto St. John’s Street, which leads you towards the River Cam. Once you reach the riverbank, turn right and follow the path along the river until you arrive at Kitchen Bridge, adjacent to St John's College.
