If you are driving from Down, take the A24 towards Newcastle. Continue on the A24 until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A1, following signs for Newcastle. Stay on the A1 until you reach the junction with the A184. Merge onto the A184 and follow the signs for Newcastle city center. Once in the city center, follow signs for 'St. Nicholas Square'.
