Walking
If you are starting from Newcastle Central Station, exit the station and head towards the main road, Neville Street. Turn left and walk towards the traffic lights at the junction with Westgate Road. Cross the road and continue on Westgate Road for about 5 minutes until you reach the roundabout. From there, take the first exit onto St. Mary’s Place, continue straight ahead, and then turn right onto Northumberland Road. Follow this road until you reach Grey Street, then turn left. Walk down Grey Street, which will lead you to the historic Quayside area. Continue walking along the Quayside until you see the iconic Tyne Bridge. From the Tyne Bridge, head towards the left along the riverfront, and you will soon arrive at Castle Garth & The Black Gate, which is located near the intersection of Castle Garth and Black Gate.

Public Transport (Bus)
From Eldon Square Bus Station, take the number 30 or 31 bus heading towards the Quayside. The journey will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Quayside' and walk towards the river. Once you reach the riverfront, turn left and follow the path along the river until you reach the Tyne Bridge. From there, head left along the riverfront to Castle Garth & The Black Gate, which is just a short walk away.

Metro
If you are near a Metro station, take the Metro towards South Shields or Sunderland and get off at the 'Central Station' stop. From Central Station, follow the walking directions provided above, which will guide you to Castle Garth & The Black Gate. Alternatively, you can take the Metro to 'Gateshead' station and then walk across the Swing Bridge towards the Newcastle side of the river. Follow the riverfront left until you reach Castle Garth & The Black Gate.
