Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the largest town on the Isle of Skye, Portree. Head southwest on the A87 road and continue until you reach the junction for the A863 towards Dunvegan. Follow the A863 for approximately 10 miles until you reach the junction for the A830. Turn left onto the A830 and continue to Loch Sligachan, which will be on your left just after you pass the Sligachan Hotel. There is parking available near the loch.

    To reach Loch Sligachan by public transport, take a bus from Portree. The buses operated by Stagecoach run regularly to Sligachan. Check the timetable in advance as services may be limited, especially outside of the summer months. The bus stop in Sligachan is located near the Sligachan Hotel. From there, it is a short walk to the loch, which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel along the path leading towards the water.
