Travel Guide to Jesmond Dene Mill

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Newcastle Central Station, exit the station and head towards the main street, St. Nicholas Street. Walk straight along this street until you reach Northumberland Road. Turn left onto Northumberland Road and continue until you reach the junction with Grey Street. From Grey Street, follow the signs for the Quayside and continue to the Tyne Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the road signs leading you to the A186. Once on the A186, continue until you reach the junction with Jesmond Dene Road. Turn right onto Jesmond Dene Road and follow it straight until you reach Jesmond Dene Park. Keep walking through the park until you see the signs for Jesmond Dene Mill, which is located near the river, surrounded by beautiful greenery.

• Bus

  From Newcastle City Centre, you can catch the bus number 38 or 39 from Eldon Square Bus Station. Get on the bus and stay on for about 15 minutes, enjoying the scenic views. You will want to get off at the stop called 'Jesmond Dene - Millfield Road'. After you get off, walk down Millfield Road, and you will find the entrance to Jesmond Dene Park. Follow the path through the park, and you will arrive at Jesmond Dene Mill shortly.

• Metro

  Take the Tyne and Wear Metro from any central stop (like Central Station) heading towards the Airport. Get off at the 'Jesmond' station. Upon exiting the station, turn left onto Clayton Road, then take a right onto Jesmond Dene Road. Walk straight until you reach the entrance of Jesmond Dene Park. Walk through the park until you arrive at Jesmond Dene Mill, which is nestled by the river.
