Getting There

  • Walking

    From Quayside, start by heading northwest along the riverside path. As you walk, enjoy the views of the Tyne Bridge and the Sage concert hall. Continue walking for about 0.6 miles (1 km) until you reach the pedestrian bridge known as the Millennium Bridge. Cross the Millennium Bridge to the Gateshead side. Once across, follow the path that leads towards the Quayside area of Gateshead, which will take you up to the road.

    After crossing, turn left and walk along the road until you reach the B1318, where you will see signs for Jesmond. Follow the B1318 (also known as the Great North Road) for approximately 0.5 miles (800 meters) until you reach the intersection with Jesmond Dene Road. Turn right onto Jesmond Dene Road.

    Continue on Jesmond Dene Road, which will lead you directly towards Jesmond Dene park. You will reach a roundabout; take the first exit onto Dene Road. Follow Dene Road until you see the entrance to Jesmond Dene park on your left.

    Once inside Jesmond Dene, follow the paths that lead along the river towards Jesmond Dene Falls. The falls are approximately a 10-minute walk from the park entrance. Look for signage directing you towards the falls.

  • Public Transport (Optional)

    If you prefer, you can also take a bus from the Quayside area to reach Jesmond. Head to the nearest bus stop and catch the number 1 or number 11 bus, which will take you to Jesmond Dene Road. The fare is around £2.50. Once you get off, follow the same directions as outlined for walking from Jesmond Dene Road.
