Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by getting onto the M6 motorway. Follow signs for M62 toward Liverpool. Merge onto the M58, and then take the A570 exit towards Ormskirk. Continue on the A570, and as you approach Ormskirk, follow signs for Aughton. Turn onto Holly Lane and follow it until you reach Gorse Hill Nature Reserve, located at Holly Ln, Aughton, Ormskirk L39 7HB. Parking is available nearby, but check for any parking fees in the area.

• Train

  For those using public transport, take a train to Ormskirk station from Liverpool or Manchester. From Ormskirk station, exit and head to the bus stop located just outside the station. Catch the bus number 2 or 3 towards Aughton. The bus will stop near Holly Lane. Once you get off, it's a short walk to Gorse Hill Nature Reserve. Make sure to check the timetable for buses, as they may run less frequently on weekends.

• Bus

  If you're already in Ormskirk, you can take a local bus to Aughton. Bus service 2 or 3 will take you directly towards Aughton. Get off at the nearest stop to Holly Lane and walk the rest of the way to Gorse Hill Nature Reserve. Always check the bus schedule as departure times may vary.

• Walking

  If you're staying in Ormskirk and enjoy walking, Gorse Hill Nature Reserve is approximately a 30-minute walk from the town center. Head south toward Aughton, and follow the signs to Holly Lane. The reserve is well-marked and offers a beautiful route through the local area.
