If you are driving, start from Kirkwall, the capital of Orkney. Head southwest on the A965 road towards Stromness. After approximately 20 minutes (around 11.5 miles), you will arrive at a roundabout. Take the second exit to stay on the A965. Continue on this road until you reach the Ness of Brodgar, which is located to the west of the Stenness Loch. Look for signage indicating 'Ness of Brodgar' as you approach, and park in the designated parking area.

To reach Ness of Brodgar by public transport, take the Orkney Islands Council bus service from Kirkwall to Stromness. The bus route is typically serviced by the number 4 bus. You can catch the bus at the Kirkwall Bus Station. Once you arrive in Stromness, you will need to transfer to the number 6 bus that goes towards Stenness. Get off at the stop nearest to the Ness of Brodgar site. Be sure to check the bus timetable in advance, as services may vary.

You will pass by beautiful scenery, including the Stenness Loch. Follow the signs for Ness of Brodgar once you approach the site.
