If you're driving, start from the capital of Orkney, Kirkwall. Head west on the A964 for approximately 11 miles until you reach the town of Stromness. Once in Stromness, follow the signs for the A965 towards the Brodgar area. The RSPB Scotland Brodgar Nature Reserve is located just outside Stromness, and you should look for the reserve's signage along the road. There is no entrance fee for the nature reserve itself, but be sure to check for any parking fees at nearby facilities.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Kirkwall to Stromness. The bus service is operated by Orkney Islands Council, and you can catch the bus from the Kirkwall bus station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Stromness, you can walk to the RSPB Scotland Brodgar Nature Reserve, which is about a 30-minute walk from the main bus stop in Stromness. Follow the A965 road towards the Brodgar area, and look for the signs directing you to the reserve.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Kirkwall or Stromness. The route remains the same: cycle from Kirkwall to Stromness via the A964, which is approximately 11 miles. Once in Stromness, continue on the A965 to reach the RSPB Scotland Brodgar Nature Reserve. This option allows you to enjoy the scenic views of Orkney, but make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations. There are no fees for accessing the reserve.
