Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, set your GPS to the address: Armoury Rd, Pitlochry PH16 5AP. From Edinburgh, take the M90 motorway towards Perth, then continue on the A9 to Pitlochry. Take the exit for Pitlochry and follow the signs to the town centre. Once in Pitlochry, follow the signs for the Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre. There is parking available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking fees.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train from major cities like Edinburgh or Glasgow to Pitlochry. The train journey offers scenic views of the Scottish countryside and typically takes around 2 hours from Edinburgh. Once you arrive at Pitlochry train station, exit the station and turn left onto the main road. Walk straight for about 10-15 minutes until you see signs for the Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre. It's a pleasant walk through the town.

• Bus

  Alternatively, you can take a bus from cities like Edinburgh or Perth to Pitlochry. Check the schedules on the Stagecoach website for the best options. The bus drops you off in the town centre, from where you can easily walk to the Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre in about 15 minutes. Look for signs directing you to the dam as you navigate the town.

• Walking from Pitlochry Town Centre

  If you're already in Pitlochry, the Visitor Centre is within walking distance from the town centre. Head down to the main street (Atholl Road) and continue toward the river. Follow the path along the River Tummel, and you will find yourself at the entrance of the Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre. This scenic walk takes approximately 15 minutes.
