Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Wigtown from any direction in Wigtownshire. Once in Wigtown, follow signs for the A746 towards Newton Stewart. After approximately 2 miles, you will reach the junction with the B7063. Turn left onto B7063, then take the first right onto the unmarked road leading to Wigtown Harbour. Follow this road until you reach the harbour, which is located at VH68+W3, Newton Stewart DG8 9ED. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any parking restrictions.

• Public Transportation

  To access Wigtown Harbour via public transportation, take a bus to Wigtown from nearby towns such as Newton Stewart or Stranraer. The bus service operated by Stagecoach can be checked for timings. Once you arrive at the Wigtown bus station, walk towards the A746 and follow it for about 0.5 miles. When you reach the junction with B7063, turn left and continue until you see the sign for Wigtown Harbour. It's advisable to check bus schedules in advance as they may vary, and there may be a small bus fare (approximately £2-£5 depending on the distance).

• Walking

  If you are already in Wigtown and prefer to walk, you can head west on the High Street until you reach the A746. Turn left and follow the road for about 0.5 miles. Turn left at the B7063 and continue straight for another mile until you arrive at Wigtown Harbour. This scenic route allows you to enjoy the local views and countryside.
