Getting There

  • Walking

    From York Minster, head south along Minster Yard. Continue straight onto Deangate, where you'll find the historic street lined with shops and cafés. Follow Deangate until you reach the intersection with Duncombe Place. Turn left on Duncombe Place and walk towards the Museum Gardens. At the end of Duncombe Place, continue straight onto the pedestrian walkway until you reach King's Square.

    Starting from the Shambles, a famous medieval street, exit the Shambles towards the Market Square. Once at the Market Square, head north past the food stalls and continue straight onto Parliament Street. Walk straight until you see the entrance to King's Square on your left.

    If you are at the York Railway Station, exit the station and walk towards the city center along Station Road. Follow the road as it curves and becomes George Hudson Street. Continue straight onto The Mount, and then take a right onto Leeman Road. Follow this road until you reach the city center, then follow signs to King's Square.
