Walking
From the center of Escalante, start at the intersection of UT-12 and Main Street. Head east on Main Street until you reach the intersection with UT-12. Turn left onto UT-12 and continue walking along the road. After about 2 miles, you will see a sign for the Head of the Rocks Overlook on your right. There is a designated walking path leading to the overlook, which is approximately 0.5 miles from the road. Follow the path to reach the overlook, where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Begin your journey at the Escalante Visitor Center, located on UT-12. From there, bike east along UT-12. Be cautious as this road can have some traffic. After approximately 2 miles, you will see a sign for Head of the Rocks Overlook. There is a bike path leading off the road to the overlook, which is about 0.5 miles away. Park your bike at the designated area and walk the remaining distance to the overlook for breathtaking views.

If you are looking for a more adventurous route, start from Escalante and follow the Escalante River Trail heading north. This trail is more challenging and will take you through beautiful landscapes. After hiking for about 3 miles, you can connect with a trail that leads towards the Head of the Rocks Overlook.
