If you are in Dong Da District, you can reach the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long by walking. Head towards Hoàng Diệu Street. Depending on your starting point, you can follow these directions: From the Vietnam National Museum of History, head east on Tràng Thi Street for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Hoàng Diệu Street. Turn left onto Hoàng Diệu Street, and the Citadel will be on your right after approximately 500 meters.

For a more enjoyable ride, rent a bicycle from local shops in Dong Da District. Cycle along Tràng Thi Street eastward, then turn left onto Hoàng Diệu Street. The Imperial Citadel will be on your right after cycling for about 500 meters. Make sure to follow local traffic rules and be cautious of pedestrians.

You can take the public bus to get close to the Imperial Citadel. Look for bus number 09, which runs through Dong Da District. Board the bus and stay on until you reach the 'Điện Biên Phủ - Hoàng Diệu' stop. From there, walk approximately 400 meters down Hoàng Diệu Street, and you will see the Imperial Citadel on your left.
