Walk along Phan Dinh Phung until you reach Hoang Dieu street. Turn left onto Hoang Dieu and walk straight for about 800 meters. The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long will be on your left side at 19c Hoàng Diệu.

    From Hoan Kiem Lake, walk to the nearest bus stop and take bus number 09 or 18. Stay on the bus for several stops until you reach the 'Hoàng Diệu' stop. From there, walk about 200 meters down Hoàng Diệu street, and you will find the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long on your left at 19c Hoàng Diệu.
