Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in South Roanoke, start by heading north on South Jefferson Street toward 12th Street SE. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 12th Street SE. Turn right onto 12th Street SE and walk until you reach the intersection with Walnut Avenue SE. Turn left onto Walnut Avenue SE and proceed until you see the signs for Stewart Knob. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your starting point in South Roanoke.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  You can take the Valley Metro Bus. The nearest bus stop in South Roanoke is located at the intersection of South Jefferson Street and 12th Street SE. Board Bus Route 5 toward the Roanoke Civic Center. After a few stops, get off at the stop near the intersection of Walnut Avenue SE and 12th Street SE. From there, walk a short distance north on Walnut Avenue SE, and you will find Stewart Knob. The bus fare is approximately $1.00.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental services. Begin your ride on South Jefferson Street heading north. Continue onto 12th Street SE, and then turn left onto Walnut Avenue SE. There are bike lanes available along these routes. The ride to Stewart Knob should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
