  • Walking

    If you are in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, the best way to reach Jefferson Rock is by walking. From the Harpers Ferry Visitor Center, head southeast on Washington Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with High Street. Turn left onto High Street and walk uphill. After a short distance, you will see signs guiding you towards Jefferson Rock. Follow the trail markers that lead to the steps up to Jefferson Rock. The hike is approximately 0.5 miles and takes about 15-20 minutes.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are arriving by public transportation, take the MARC train to Harpers Ferry Station. From the train station, you will need to walk to the Visitor Center, which is about 0.3 miles away. Once at the Visitor Center, follow the walking directions provided above to reach Jefferson Rock.

  • Car Parking

    If you are driving to Harpers Ferry, you can park at the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park parking lot. There is a parking fee of $20 per vehicle, valid for 3 days. After parking, exit the lot and walk towards the Visitor Center, then follow the walking directions to Jefferson Rock as described earlier.
