Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Use the main entrance located at 171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. Once inside the park, follow the signs directing you to the Lower Town area. You will find parking available along the streets in the Historic Lower Town area. Please note that parking may incur a fee, so be prepared to pay for parking at the designated areas.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the MARC Train from Washington, D.C. to the Harpers Ferry station. Check the MARC Train schedule for current times. Upon arriving at the Harpers Ferry station, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the Lower Town Trailhead. Follow the signs for US Route 340 South and then turn onto Washington Street, which will lead you into Lower Town. Be mindful of your walking route as it may involve some elevation changes.
Walking
If you are already within Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, you can reach the Lower Town Trailhead by walking. Start from the Visitor Center and head towards the Lower Town area, which is well-marked with signs. The walk is approximately 0.5 miles and will take you through scenic park areas. As you navigate the trails, look for directional signs that will lead you to the Lower Town Trailhead.
